Photography is my favorite form of art. The way it exploits the beauty in everyday occurrences and captures an infinitesimal point in time that may have passed without being noticed. I have always loved snapping photos, but it was when I finally got my hands on my first DSLR in December of 2009 that I truly fell in love. This is the evolution of me as a photographer. DPS Weekly Assignment: Celebrate!

Damn it, missed it again. I get so damn busy with work work that I always miss the submittal dates. O well, just honing my skills. Anyways, the theme was "Celebrate!" As in, "how do you celebrate?" Well, I just happened to be cooking myself a steak dinner and pairing it with a nice bottle of Zin to celebrate a win on a big project proposal and...well, this was the result. Which one do you like (if either)? A "why" is always helpful too. Thanks!

So the plan is to actually get one of these in on-time. I don't think it will be next week since I'll be in Hawaii, but who knows.

  1. I think the "spin the bottle" pic could use more motion blur and a more subtle impression of the bottle itself. Good idea though.
The second picture is comical to me. Like you're feeding beer to the steak... two symbols of celebration. That's thought

  2. Thanks, Seth! Yeah, that particular bottle was difficult because it didn't have any liquid in it (post celebratory pic), think I'll mess with the idea a bit more. Good luck with SFFoodFest today!
