I just returned from my week-long, very photography-focused, trip to Maui. My buddy, Marchal, just snapped this pic of me on my iPhone. Imagine the rest of the pictures I got. Yeah, about 460 of em (and that's after sorting though). Stay-tuned and I'll start posting soon. Mahalo!

- Photography is my favorite form of art. The way it exploits the beauty in everyday occurrences and captures an infinitesimal point in time that may have passed without being noticed. I have always loved snapping photos, but it was when I finally got my hands on my first DSLR in December of 2009 that I truly fell in love. This is the evolution of me as a photographer. DPS Weekly Assignment: Celebrate!
Damn it, missed it again. I get so damn busy with work work that I always miss the submittal dates. O well, just honing my skills. Anyways, the theme was "Celebrate!" As in, "how do you celebrate?" Well, I just happened to be cooking myself a steak dinner and pairing it with a nice bottle of Zin to celebrate a win on a big project proposal and...well, this was the result. Which one do you like (if either)? A "why" is always helpful too. Thanks!
So the plan is to actually get one of these in on-time. I don't think it will be next week since I'll be in Hawaii, but who knows.

DPS Weekly Assignment: Motion Blur - People
Alright, so I skipped the last assignment because I got really busy at my "real" work. That, and my idea for "In the Fridge" involved emptying it, which didn't sound fun at the time ... so instead of coming up with a new idea, I just skipped it.
Anyways, I've had a couple good opportunities the past week to shoot people in motion. The first being Blake's birthday in Napa and then Matt playing at Hotel Utah. Any opinions on the following shots?
